Autumn Colors of the Western Balkans

8 Days, Private Journey

Three countries woven into one continuous story, the Albanian Alps, the canyons of Kosovo, and the lakes and canyons of North Macedonia, with a dinner inside a 250-year-old stone tower.

There is a moment, somewhere between late September and November, when the Western Balkans quietly becomes one of the most beautiful places in Europe. The beech forests of the Albanian Alps turn to copper and gold, the waters of Lake Koman lie perfectly still beneath towering cliffs, and the crowds of summer have gone home. What remains is a region at its most authentic — unhurried, richly colored, and ready to be explored properly.

Autumn Colors of the Western Balkans is an 8-day private journey through three countries, built for travelers who want more than a checklist of landmarks. Over the course of this tour, you will cruise across one of Europe's most dramatic man-made lakes, walk through a stone village beneath the Accursed Mountains, watch traditional Kosovar dishes prepared by hand in Prizren's old quarter, and share a meal inside a 250-year-old stone tower. Every detail — the vehicle, the guide, the hotel, the table you sit at for dinner — has been chosen to the same standard: quietly excellent, never generic.

  • The Koman Lake ferry and the ValbonĂ« Valley
  • Theth National Park in the Albanian Alps
  • Traditional fli prepared by hand in Prizren
  • Matka Canyon boat ride and the Vrelo Cave, Skopje
  • A traditional dinner inside Kulla Hupi, a 250-year-old stone tower

Why This Journey

What Makes This Journey Different

A private journey, start to finish

You travel in a premium vehicle (Audi A8, Mercedes S-Class, or Mercedes V-Class, depending on group size) with your own licensed, multilingual guide-driver — never merged into a larger coach group, never on someone else's schedule.

Three countries, one continuous story

Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia are woven into a single, logical route — from the Albanian Alps to the canyons of Kosovo to the lakes and canyons of North Macedonia.

Genuine culinary experiences, not just meals

A farm-to-table lunch at Mrizi i Zanave. A lunch in Prizren that includes watching traditional spit-roasted meat and fli being prepared by hand. A traditional dinner inside Kulla Hupi, a stone tower more than 250 years old, with authentic mountain hospitality. A relaxed craft beer tasting paired with local dishes on your final evening in Tirana — or, for those who prefer, a full traditional dinner instead. No compromise on quality either way.

Handled with care, down to the smallest logistics

Your first day is intentionally free of touring — a chance to rest after your flight before the journey begins in earnest the following morning. Every hotel is 4-5★ or a carefully chosen boutique property.
